The Assistant Instructor programme is the next step up from Divemaster and the stepping stone to becoming an Open Water Instructor. You will learn SSI training standards, how to teach entry level Try Scuba, attend and participate in Open Water Diver courses with an instructor and much more.

The first step will be your individual work with the digital theory part via the SSI website or App. We will schedule course days and times with your instructor for classroom and in-water theory sessions.

This programme allows you to gain teaching experience, practice briefings and deliver classroom and in-water training. In addition, once certified you will be able to teach Try Scuba, the confined water sessions of courses and accompany a certified Instructor as a course assistant. If you want to advance in your career as a diving professional this is a stepping stone to the Open Water Instructor course.

Upon completion of the course and completion of the SSI PRO procedures, you will receive professional Assistant Instructor certification and recognition as a Perfect Bouyancy Instructor.

Course Content

Minimum hours to complete the programe: 35-42 hours

Digital theory material.

Theory sessions in classroom.

5 open water sessions.

Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old.

Have logged at least 60 dives.

A medical form must be completed prior to the course.
