    From what age can you dive?

    For a first diving experience you can start at 8 years old, but for your first certification as a self-employed diver you must be at least 10 years old.

    Do I need previous experience before doing the Open Water Diver course?

    No previous experience is necessary, but if it is recommended to have done a first diving experience.

    Do my ears hurt when I dive in the swimming pool/beach and/or when I board the plane, will I be able to dive?

    It is normal that we have discomfort when submerged, due to the increase in pressure, there are different techniques to avoid them. If they persist, it is advisable to visit an otorhinolaryngologist to check if there is any pathology you do not know.

    Can I fly after diving?

    No! Regardless of the dive you have done, you will have to wait between 12h and 24h depending on the depth and type of dive.

    Can I dive with contact lenses?

    Yes. What you can’t dive with is eyeglasses. Divers who have their own equipment also usually graduate their diving mask. There are more and more models suitable for graduating.

    Do I need to know how to swim to dive?

    You do not need to be a swimming expert because when we are diving, we do not use our arms, we move with the movement of the fins, but you do have to feel comfortable in the water.

    Can I dive during all year in Lanzarote?

    Yes. During the summer the water is between 22-25 degrees and during the winter the water is between 18-20 degrees.

    Is it safe to dive?

    Yes! Decades of research have been devoted to scuba diving and how to make it as safe as possible. The diving programs have been designed to teach you everything you need to know about diving safely autonomously.
